the beginning of a new chapter

A cosy newborn session at home

Only two weeks after welcoming their little boy into the world, I joined this lovely family at their home in Buxton to capture some of their very first moments together. We kept the session relaxed, focusing on the little details that change so quickly and some natural photographs of baby with his parents.

Like most newborn sessions, we had a few fussy moments along the way, but there was never any rush or pressure. We simply worked around him, giving him time to settle when he needed it and picking the camera back up when he was ready. Some of the best photographs often come from these moments in between, when everyone is simply at home and getting used to their new normal.

I always feel so grateful to the families that choose me to capture these first moments and create a collection of intimate photographs to look back on as they begin this exciting new chapter together.
